For citrus nurserymen, choosing the right plastic pot is key to growing success. Alber, aware of these needs, offers several specific series of plastic pots for citrus fruits in different formats, both square and round.
When growing citrus trees, it is essential that the pot be large enough. The ideal size ranges from 5.5 liters to 10 liters so that they are functional and commercial formats. It is also important that they have good drainage to avoid waterlogging of the substrate and it is recommended that plastic pots have protection against UV rays, to preserve their pigment in potted crops outdoors.
The three collections we are going to talk about are made up of recyclable pots and made with 100% recycled material.
The CH Series containers offer robustness and great resistance to high temperatures since they are manufactured with a modified material to meet this objective. Available in 6 and 9 liters, they are ideal for growing citrus outdoors and offer star drainage with a raised grid plus lateral drainage. The CH model has been designed to achieve a perfect fit between pots for transporting stacked plants.
These square plastic pots are made with recycled polypropylene, they are tall and have a raised cross bottom, perfect for facilitating excellent drainage and avoiding water saturation. It also has slots for attaching labels. This extensive collection ranges from 2.5 to 11 liters in capacity.
The smallest model, MCA 14, also has anti-spiralization grooves on the root. The recommended sizes for citrus fruits are the MCA 18 square pot of 18x18x23 cm and 5.5 liters capacity and MCA 20, with 20x20x25 cm and 7 liters. Growing in square pots implies better use of production space, being able to place more plants in the same space.
This collection of plastic pots is the largest of the three, as it is available from 1 liter to 25 in clay color, although it can be manufactured in other colors upon request. The recommended sizes for citrus cultivation are CDA 24, measuring 24×21 cm and 6 liters in capacity, and CDA 27, measuring 27×23 and 8.5 liters. It is a tall format container, it has a simple, elegant design and a matte finish. It has a drainage with variable height crosshead. It also has UV protection in the pigment that increases the durability of the color.
Finally, in the CG series we offer the CG23 model with 5.7 liters and measurements of 23x20 centimeters, whose sustainability is approved by the cyclos-HTP Gmbh Institute. This 100% recycled and 100% recyclable round pot is made in a matte finish and a simple design. Available in anthracite and clay colors, it has UV protection and can also be used in automatic potting machines and loading forks.
